Airport News- aircraft landed safely on belly

A PASSENGER aircraft carrying 231 people landed safely on its belly after its undercarriage failed to open. Sparks and small fires could be seen as the LOT Polish Airlines aircraft bumped down on to a foam-covered runway. A passenger on board the Boeing 767 told a relative that some on board had feared the worst. People were saying their final farewells to each other and some were sobbing, said Joanna Debrowska, whose mother in law was passenger. In the even no one hurt. The plane had been flying from Newark in the US to Warsaw Chopin airport in Poland when it’s pilots discovered a problem with the chassis. They circled 767 above the airport for one hour and dumped its excess fuel before descending without lowering the wheels, said a spokesman for the airport. Crew was highly appreciated by the Polish president.
